Laura Kuenssberg is a reporter for The Daily Politics.
Laura was born in Italy and grew up in Glasgow.
Before studying history at Edinburgh University, she spent a gap year studying and working in Paris.
She also studied for a year at Georgetown University in Washington DC where she worked on an NBC political programme.
Laura returned to Edinburgh to work in cable TV and local radio before joining the BBC in March 2000.
In her time with the BBC, she has worked as a reporter in Newcastle - for which she won a Royal Television Society award - and as producer to Niall Dickson, the former BBC social affairs editor.
In January 2003, Laura joined The Daily Politics broadcasting from Hereford on our first programme.
Laura's ambition is to own a Labrador, but living in a small London flat and being on the road most of the week makes that impossible for the time being.
She loves standing in cold fields in the pouring rain for the programme - honest!
