Metallica's Lars Ulrich said: "We're stoked to be touring England and Europe with Sonisphere - we can't wait to see all of our fans over there."

The touring festival will also visit countries across Europe including Holland, Sweden and Finland before concluding in the UK.

The new festival is the brainchild of the creators of the Monsters Of Rock and Download festivals.
