Glastonbury Festival is set to give up-and-coming bands a shot at indie stardom with the return of the emerging talent competition (ETC) in 2009.
The festival website is open until 26 January for artists and bands to upload two of their best entries.
The winner will then get to play on one of the festival's main stages next year.
The competition has been running for the last four years with bands such as Scouting for Girls making the final and The Subways winning the title.
Next year's competition will be judged by a team of music experts including organisers Michael and Emily Eavis, Radio 1's Huw Stephens and music journalists from Q Magazine.
For the first time, the public will also be able to decide one 'wild card' entry into the finals.
That act, voted for online, will then be guaranteed a slot at the Queen's Head venue at the festival as well as having a chance to win a slot on the Pyramid or Other Stage.
Glastonbury's emerging talent competition is open to musicians not signed to a major label, based in the UK and Ireland.
