Coldplay announce massive shows

Coldplay

Coldplay have announced they will play three massive stadium shows next summer.

The Radio 1 Presents... gigs will take place at Manchester's LCCC (12 September), (16) Glasgow Hampden Park and (19) London's Wembley Stadium.

Lead singer Chris Martin made the announcement speaking to Chris Moyles on this morning's breakfast show.

"Now we just want to be returning to a place from whence we came. It's a dream come true," said Martin.

Joking about Chris Moyles' current fitness regime and his band's own condition Martin said: "By the time we play the gigs we're going to look like Hulk Hogan. If you're going to play stadium gigs you got to have pectorals."

He even offered Moyles the chance to join them. "If you've got a six pack by then you can sing Yellow."

The shows will wrap up a busy 18 months for the band after the release of their fourth record Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends.

Jay-Z will join the band on all three dates.

Tickets for the gigs go on sale this Friday (28 November) at 9.30am.
