Glasto wins at UK festival awards

Glastonbury has dominated the UK Festival Awards after bagging three gongs at this year's ceremony.

The three-day event won best major festival as well as most memorable moment for Jay-Z's mocking of the Oasis classic Wonderwall.

Organiser Michael Eavis was also honoured with the outstanding contribution prize for his work over the last 30 years.

The Ting Tings were the other major winner scoring a hat-trick of prizes.

The duo won the vote for best festival pop act, best live newcomer and anthem of the summer for That's Not My Name.

The ceremony took place at London's Indigo venue at the O2 arena.

Kings Of Leon beat off competition from The Verve, Metallica, Muse and Rage Against The Machine to win the best festival headline act.

Biffy Clyro also picked up the best festival rock act ahead of Bloc Party, Elbow, The Raconteurs and Bullet For My Valentine.

T In The Park was awarded the best line-up while Irish festival Oxegen the prize for best European festival.

Best festival dance act went to The Prodigy and Dizzee Rascal was awarded best urban act.

More than 350,000 votes were cast to decide this year's UK Festival Awards.
