The Chemical Brothers say they are "really happy" with the first ever remix they have done on an Oasis track.
Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons have worked on a re-imagining of Falling Down, from Oasis's new album Dig Out Your Soul.
It is also the first time that Oasis have given the official go-ahead to rework one of their songs.
The track will appear as a B-side on The Shock Of the Lightning, the first single to be taken from from the album.
Rowlands said: We're really happy with it, we haven't done a remix for ages and it's very different.
"When Noel's name comes through on your phone, the command has been issued"
"It was quite fun to get in the studio and have a strict amount of time and be a bit more cut and thrust with it."
The Chemical Brothers have worked with Noel Gallagher before. He provided vocals on their track Setting Sun in 1996.
And they famously turned down the chance to remix one of Oasis's biggest hits a couple of years beforehand.
Rolwands said: "They did ask us to remix Wonderwall when that first came out but basically we didn't know how to do it."
Simons added: "Yeah, that would have been good to do, it was a fairly big song."
Rowlands continued: "When Noel's name comes through on your phone, the command has been issued. It was exciting to do it and I'm glad they like it.
"We chucked loads of bits out and did it how we would want it to sound."
The Shock Of The Lightning is released on 29 September.
Brotherhood
The Chemical Brothers, who headlined one of the stages at the V Festival, are also busy over the next few weeks with a new compilation album coming out in September and a huge gig at London's Olympia Grand Hall on 30 August.
They are the first band to play the venue in over ten years.
Simons said: "I think we've played Brixton Academy more than any other band now and we just wanted to do something a bit different.
"The cover of our Surrender album was taken from a Jethro Tull concert at the Olympia. It's an amazing venue, it's got this glass roof and it's the end of a very long run of shows."
The new album, Brotherhood, is a compilation of tracks from the Chemical's 13 year history.
Aside from a couple of newer tracks like the next single Midnight Madness and Keep My Composure, which features Baltimore electro rapper Spank Rock, the tracklisting is almost identical to their singles collection from 2003.
Simons said: "Since then, we've had some bigger hits like Galvanise, so we've tacked those on and re-jigged the order.
"We've played to so many people over the past few years at festivals who don't really buy our records so it's for those people.
"It's not really for people who have got all our music."
Midnight Madness
The Chemical Brothers have asked for fans to contribute to a video for Midnight Madness, which is released as a download today.
People can post a photo or a 2-20 second video clip to the band's website around the theme of "midnight madness", and tag them via Google Earth application.
The best ones will then be used used on a film which will premiere on their site on the same week as Brotherhood's release.
Applications must be in before 25 August.
Rowlands said: "We're waiting to see what people get up to at midnight around the world.
"Prepare to be shocked."
