Office team reuniting for movie

The film - with the working title The Men at the Pru - is about a group of 20-somethings in the early 1970s.

"They work for the building society and they're having a great time but it's about them coming of age and having to grow up," Gervais says.

But first he will have to finish work on a Hollywood film, The Side of the Truth, he's writing and starring in.

Gervais says writing with Merchant is going well and the pair have been doing thorough research.

"We're really getting excited. We went down to the Prudential headquarters and got all this old footage so we're really getting into it."

This Side of the Truth stars Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe and Jason Bateman and Gervais admits he's nervous.

He says: "I'm worried because it's a Hollywood movie and you don't get many chances to screw up with Hollywood. But I also prefer being in charge than not.

"I like to give myself enough rope... I want to live and die by the sword."

This Side of the Truth will be out early next year - there's no details yet for when we get to see The Men at the Pru.
