Spotify will release the new mobile application on an unconfirmed date
Online music service Spotify.com has announced details of a new mobile phone service, which will allow users to listen to tracks on the move.
The site will allow users to access music through the new mobile application regardless of whether they're on or off line.
The new technology was revealed at a conference in San Francisco on 27 May.
It has yet to be confirmed which mobile platforms the new application will be available on and when it will arrive.
Spotify is a service which allows users to search and listen to millions of music tracks for free, or subscribe for a fee.
As well as the UK and Sweden, where Spotify was created, the current service is also currently available in Norway, Finland, France and Spain.
The service, launched in 2008, already has over a million users in the UK.
