Model Kelly Brook was one of more than a hundred guests from the world of entertainment, sport and politics who turned up for this year's Pride of Britain Awards to honour unsung heroes in London.

X Factor judge and singer Dannii Minogue said she felt "humbled" by the experience. She added: "I've got a box of tissues packed. It's amazing to see people do such heroic things by instinct."

Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell

Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell shared a joke as they took cover under their umbrella. Other guests at the ceremony included Prime Minister Gordon Brown and entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson.

McFly

Rock band McFly turned out in force to take part in the event. Among the winners was six year-old Jaden Ashton who called 999 and looked after his mother when she fell into a diabetic coma.

Rachel Stevens

Former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens braved the rain on the red carpet. She was taking a break from practising her dance routines for this year's Strictly Come Dancing with partner Vincent Simone.

Kevin Spacey

Actor Kevin Spacey praised Ricky McCalla, whose dancing career was cut short when he was partially paralysed during a carjacking. He now works as a mentor to kids at risk of getting involved in crime.

Ronan Keating

Singer Ronan Keating arrived with his wife Yvonne. Speaking of the event, he said: "These are incredible people who have been through amazing things. I am delighted to be asked to come here."

Rebecca Adlington

Double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington was there to pick up a Special Recognition prize which was won by the whole of the British Olympic team. The swimmer has become quite a celebrity since Beijing.
