Arctic Monkeys have confirmed the title of their new album.

The Sheffield four-piece have named their third record Humbug ahead of its release on 24 August.

The LP was part-produced by Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme and James Ford, who worked on their 2007 LP Favourite Worst Nightmare.

It was recorded throughout 2008 and 2009 in a number of locations including the Mojave Desert, Los Angeles and New York.

Tracks slated to appear on the record include My Propeller, Crying Lightning, Dangerous Animals, Secret Door and Fire And Thud.

The band are due to headline this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals alongside Radiohead and Kings of Leon over the weekend of 28-30 August.
