Dizzee Rascal will be appearing at this year's Radio 1 Big Weekend in Swindon

Dizzee Rascal, Kasabian, Calvin Harris, Lily Allen and Franz Ferdinand have been announced in the full line up for Radio 1's Big Weekend.

The news was announced by Chris Moyles on his breakfast show on Tuesday.

White Lies, The Enemy and The Wombats have also been added to the bill at the UK's biggest free ticketed music festival.

This year's event will take place in Swindon's Lydiard Park on the weekend of 9 and 10 May.

Dizzee said he's looking forward to teaming up with his friend Calvin Harris who shot straight to the top of the charts at the weekend with I'm Not Alone.

"It will be good to see him again and he's Number One right now," he added.

There will be live music and Radio 1 DJ performances across four stages.

The two-day event will be also be broadcast live and many of the performances will be available to watch on demand.

Other acts added to the bill include Basement Jaxx, Friendly Fires, Alesha Dixon, Ne-Yo, Akon, Ladyhawke, King Blues, Florence And The Machine, Jack Penate, The Saturdays, Gossip and The Wombats.

They join N-Dubz and Snow Patrol who were announced for the two day event last month.

Up to 40,000 tickets will be made available for the weekend on Wednesday from 8.15am and you have until 10am on 20 April to register.

Tickets will be drawn from a ballot but weighted in favour of those living in Swindon.

You can choose which one of the days you'd like to apply for.

There will also be highlights on BBC Three and extended performances on the red button during the weekend.

Last year's event took place in Maidstone, Kent, and was headlined by Madonna.

Almost half a million people applied for tickets.
