Radiohead playing 'rival territory'

Radiohead's Thom Yorke
Radiohead will headline this year's Reading and Leeds festivals

Radiohead have described playing this year's Reading and Leeds festivals as performing on 'rival territory'.

The Oxford five piece will headline the event alongside Arctic Monkeys and Kings Of Leon.

The festivals take place between 28-30 August and weekend tickets have now sold out.

Speaking to Newsbeat at the Featured Artists Coalition, guitarist Ed O'Brien said: "We haven't played there since 1994 and Reading is just down the road from Oxford. It's Reading, it's rival territory."

O'Brien added: "It'd be nice to do that one because it's dark as well at that time. It's cool."
