Kasabian arrive on the red carpet at the NME Awards. Later they will pick up the best British band award for their heroes Oasis who are currently on tour in Euorpe.

The Last Shadow Puppets

Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner and The Rascals frontman Miles Kane from The Last Shadow Puppets rub shoulders before they go on to pick up Best Video for My Mistakes Were Made For You.

Girls Aloud

Girls Aloud get into the party spirit as the awards get under way. They later stepped up to present The Last Shadow Puppets with their Best Video award.

Elbow

Elbow made it a hat-trick of awards as they scooped the Outstanding Contribution To British Music. Last week they were crowned Best British group at The Brits and in 2008 they won the Mercury Prize.

Florence Welch

Hotly tipped newcomers Florence Welch and Little Boots get up close and personal during the ceremony at Brixton Academy. Florence recently picked up the Critics' Choice gong at the Brits.

The Killers

After missing out on the Brits, The Killers fought off stiff competition from Kings Of Leon to scoop Best International Band. The Mighty Boosh also got the chance to share a table with the Vegas quartet.

Pete Doherty

Looking like a character from one of Tim Burton's films, Pete Doherty showed up to pick up best solo artist ahead of Ladyhawke, Jay-Z and Lightspeed Champion.

The Mighty Boosh

The Mighty Boosh celebrated winning Best TV show in style flanked by two scantily clad models. Noel Fielding spent the night mingling with The Killers and Pete Doherty.

Dizzee Rascal

Dizzee Rascal stagedived into the crowd after hearing that his number one hit Dance Wiv Me won Best Dancefloor Filler. The track also featured Calvin Harris and Chrome.

Blur

Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon's performance was the story of the night as the pair played together for the first time in nine years. Blur bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree watched on.
