Kaisers' Peanut has appendix op
Kaiser Chiefs
The band worked with Mark Ronson on their new album Off With Their Heads.

Kaiser Chiefs keyboardist Peanut is to miss his band's Los Angeles gig after having his appendix removed in Brazil.

The keyboard player has been forced to stay and rest alone in Sao Paolo after undergoing the procedure on Thursday.

As doctors have banned him from flying, he will miss his band's set at LA's Henry Fonda Theatre on Tuesday.

However, Peanut did manage to play with Kaiser Chiefs at Sao Paolo's Planeta Terra on Saturday after being discharged from hospital.

Writing on the band's website, Kaiser Chiefs said: "We didn't want to let LA down and it's going to be a challenge, but between Roger Lyons (Peanut's tech) and James Hennin (Simon's [Rix, bassist] tech) we'll deputise and make sure the show goes on!

"It will be our first ever gig missing one of the band. Something unique for LA."

Peanut will rejoin the tour in Chicago on Thursday.
