Arctic Monkeys supergroup Mongrel have announced plans to play their first gig next week.

The side project which features drummer Matt Helders, ex-bassist Andy Nicholson, Reverend And The Makers and Babyshambles will play a show at the London's Boston Arms on 5 November.

The band are also set to release a four track digital EP, The Menace, on the same day.

They recently completed sessions for their debut album Better Than Heavy.

The LP, which was recorded at Dean Street Studios, was originally slated to surface on 27 October. But an official release date is still to be set.

Speaking about the title track to their EP, Reverend And The Makers frontman Jon McClure told Newsbeat that it was inspired by 9/11.
