Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis is due to receive an award

Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis is to be honoured at the UK Festival Awards.

Eavis will be presented with the outstanding contribution prize for his work over the last 30 years.

Voting for the awards, which is set to be held at the Indigo venue at the O2 arena on 30 October, has now closed.

Kings Of Leon, The Verve, Metallica, Muse and Rage Against The Machine are in the running for the best festival headline act.

Glastonbury headliner Jay-Z was snubbed in the headline category.

But his cover of Oasis' Wonderwall features in the shortlist for most memorable moment.

The shortlist for best live newcomer looks set to be tightly fought, with Duffy, Glasvegas, MGMT, The Ting Tings and Vampire Weekend all nominated.

Biffy Clyro, Bloc Party, Elbow, The Raconteurs and Bullet For My Valentine are also in the running for best festival rock act.
