Franz announce new album details

Franz Ferdinand have announced the tracklisting for their third album.

The 12 track record is due to be released on 26 January 2009 and has been produced by CSS and Hot Chip knob twiddler Dan Carey.

Tonight: Franz Ferdinand is the follow up to their 2005 LP You Could Have It So Much Better.

Singer Alex Kapranos said: "This is music of the night: to fling yourself around your room to as you psyche yourself for a night of hedonism."

He added: "It's for that lonely hour gently rocking yourself waiting for dawn and it all to be even again."

The band originally enlisted Girls Aloud producer Brian Higgins to produce the record. But the sessions were later scrapped.

It was recorded at the band's own HQ in Govan, Glasgow, and Carey's south London studio.

The full tracklisting is: Ulysses, Turn It On, Kiss Me, Twilight Omens, Send Him Away, Live Alone, Bite Hard, What She Came For, Can't Stop Feeling, Lucid Dreams, Dream Again, Katherine Kiss Me.

The band will announce plans for a new single and UK tour shortly.
