Snow Patrol are hitting the road for a whistlestop tour

Snow Patrol have announced plans for a whistlestop tour over two days.

The five-piece are due to play four cities in Ireland and the UK later this month to celebrate the release of their new album A Hundred Million Suns.

The band will play The Gate Theatre in Dublin at lunchtime on 26 October, before heading to Belfast Empire for a show in the evening.

The following day they will perform at Edinburgh Assembly Rooms and at London's Bloomsbury Theatre.

Tickets for the shows will be allocated via a lottery draw through the band's mailing list.

Each fan will also get an exclusive free live CD containing highlights of the show they attend.

A Hundred Million Suns will be released on 27 October.
