Kings of Leon are planning an arena tour in the winter
|
Kings Of Leon have previewed five new tracks for an intimate Radio 1 show in London.
The four-piece performed an hour-long set at Maida Vale studios in front of a small crowd of lucky listeners.
Kicking off with their new single Sex On Fire, the band went on to play four further tracks from their forthcoming album.
The group were greeted with huge cheers when they performed fan favourites Bucket, Four Kicks and Charmer.
Singer Caleb Followill said very little throughout the set apart from thanking the crowd on a number of occasions. He also continually flicked plectrums into the audience.
Competition winner Amy Tettai, 27, from East London was bowled over by Kings Of Leon's intimate show.
She said: "I thought it was fantastic. It was really, really amazing and those boys are just great. I love them.
"When they sang Charmer near the end and the whole audience started singing along that was just incredible."
Anna Glover, 22, from London was also impressed by the Followills' performance.
She added: "It's the first time I've ever seen them before and they were just incredible.
The band compose themselves before going on stage

"When they opened with Sex On Fire, that was the highlight for me. It doesn't get any better than that."
Their new single Sex On Fire is currently in a chart battle for the number one spot with Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl, which has topped the UK singles chart for the last five weeks.
When asked by Newsbeat how they felt about going head to head with Perry, Caleb joked: "I kissed a girl and I liked it too."
"If we beat Katy Perry and score our first Number One I'll be very happy. I want to beat everybody," he added.
The band will return to the UK for an arena tour in the winter which will wrap up at Wembley Arena on 22 December.
Their new album, Only By The Night, is out on 22 September.
