Razorlight announce third album

Razorlight are set to release their third album in the autumn.

The record, Slipway Fires, is due out on 3 November and will be preceded by a new single, Wire To Wire.

The track received its first airplay on Zane Lowe's evening show on Monday and is due for release as a download on 26 September with a physical version to follow on 27 October.

The band have spent the last two months recording their new LP in a north London studio.

Singer Johnny Borrell said: "We recorded it with (Arctic Monkeys producer) Mike Crossey onto tape.

"We wanted to make a record without any studio trickery, without too much production."

Drummer Andy Burrows added: "The album's finished and we're all in a really good place. I can't wait for us to get out and play it live."

The four-piece recently performed a new track You, And The Rest That Pass Me By at a charity gig in a London church.

But it is unclear at this stage whether the song will feature on the new record.

Razorlight are due to play a gig at the London Forum in Kentish Town on 2 October.

The group are also set to perform a special show from their rehearsal studio in the week beginning 22 September as part of Jo Whiley's forthcoming Live Lounge tour.
