Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has praised US presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Gallagher admitted that he was "inspired" after watching Obama accept the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.
"I managed to catch Barack Obama's speech to the Democratic rally. Impressive stuff. Spellbinding in fact. Wish he was one of ours," he said in a blog on the band's website.
The band are currently touring the US.
The blog charts the guitarist's thoughts while he is on the road with the rest of the band.
Elsewhere, he also expresses his delight at Manchester City re-signing their former striker Shaun Wright-Phillips.
He said: "Back on the bus I notice I've got 26 messages on my phone.
"That usually means some famous person or other has got upset with my turn of phrase in an interview or something and my manager's going ape-s***.
"Turns out it's great news. Shaun Wright-Phillips has signed for Man City. What a coup! We might actually win something this time."
The band are due to wrap up their US tour in New York on 12 September before they head over to the UK for a handful of shows next month.
Oasis release their new album Dig Out Your Soul on October 6.
