In keeping with their hard rocking credentials, Fightstar have been telling Newsbeat exclusively about their plans to make a horror movie.
The melodic metallers are writing, starring in and providing the soundtrack to the short film, tentatively titled: The Human Instrumentality Project.
"It's actually not related to Fightstar, though we are all in it", said singer and former Busted man Charlie Simpson.
He continued: "Dan Haigh, our bassist, shot a lot of our videos and he's really into film-making and he's got his own production company.
"He basically had this idea to create this short film, it's like a mix of a 70s sci-fi horror with a bit of 28 Days Later chucked in.
"It's going to be pretty weird."
Guitarist Al Westaway added: "Yeah, it's going be like a psychological horror with action, lots of blood, lots of guns."
Playing themselves
Lets, just for a moment, look at previous rock star forays into acting, did you see Jon Bon Jovi in The Leading Man?
Who can forget Mick Jagger in the extraordinary Freejack?
And, lets face it, Sting in absolutely anything.
"Yeah we are playing our hand at the whole acting thing", laughed Simpson.

He added: "We've shot the whole thing ourselves and now these guys are doing the CG.
"We could watch ourselves and think, 'Yeah, we really shouldn't have.'"
"When it's done, we'll send it to all the film festivals."
Westaway insisted: "It's just for fun, when we're rich we'll hire real actors."
In the meantime, the band are currently writing their third album.
