Dizzee admits he would chosen Kanye West over Jay-Z
Rapper Dizzee Rascal says it is a "funny" decision to give Jay-Z a headline slot at Glastonbury.
The star, who is also playing at the festival, believes mainstream hip-hop acts like Kanye West or Eminem would have had a wider appeal.
He told 1Xtra: "I don't know if Jay-Z has got that cross over element. Kanye West or Eminem, they've both got that. Jay-Z is a bit of a funny one."
His comments come after Noel Gallagher said Jay-Z was "wrong" for Glastonbury.
Despite his comments Dizzee, who teamed up with the Arctic Monkeys at last year's event, did admit he is personally delighted to see a hip-hop act headlining the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury.
"It's amazing to me man, as a fan that's just like wow," he added. "I never saw that coming and I could never picture Jay-Z at Glastonbury but it's all good."
Dizzee's comments come just days after Oasis star Noel Gallagher criticised festival organisers for choosing a hip-hop act to headline Glastonbury.
He said it was "wrong" to have a hip-hop headliner and added that organisers had changed things too much.
"If it ain't broke don't fix it," Gallagher added. "If you start to break it then people aren't going to go. I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance."
Jay-Z is due to headline the event on Saturday 28 June.
Dizzee also confirmed that he will be appearing at the festival too.
He added: "I will do my thing there, I will show there is definitely a place for rap at Glastonbury. It's the first time performing on my own so it should be good."
