The rap superstar has been announced to headline the dance festival held at Long Marsten Airfield near Stratford Upon Avon on 25-26 July.

Kanye will perform with his new Glow In The Dark show.

On the US leg of the tour, that includes artists like Lupe Fiaso and Pharrell Williams of N*E*R*D.

The trio are expected to record an album this year under the banner, Child Rebel Soldiers. But there is no word, as yet, whether they will join Kanye in the UK.

Kanye is the second high profile hip-hop artist to top the bill at a major British festival, after Jay-Z was unveiled as a Glastonbury headliner.

Recent reports have suggested a fall in the demand for Glastonbury tickets is down to the rapper's appearance.

But organiser Michael Eavis says bad weather is to blame and has denied claims that Jay-Z is now threatening to pull out of the festival.

Jay-Z has also been confirmed to headline the Wireless Festival on 3 July.

Earlybird tickets for Global Gathering have now sold out but ticketrs are still on sale.

Wireless tickets will be available from 11 April.
