Kasabian have been announced as this year's Creamfields headliners.

The Leicester rockers will perform at the event's 10th anniversary in Daresbury, Cheshire on the bank holiday weekend of 23-24 August.

This year's event, which will be broadcast live on Radio 1, has been extended to two days and tickets are on sale now.

Kasabian singer Tom Meighan said: "We are made up to be headlining this year's Creamfields."

He added: "We have heard great things about the festival over the years and it is an honour to be asked to headline the event on its 10th anniversary. It will be great to bring our sound to a fresh northern crowd."
