Fatboy aka Norman Cook will headline the 02 Wireless Festival

Cook says the Stooges frontman is just one of the vocalists who have laid down some lyrics.

He said: "We've been mates for years. He always comes to see me at shows and I'm like, 'You're Iggy Pop, what are you doing here?'

"So, I've done a track with him and a few others as well."

Fatboy, aka Norman Cook, has been announced as the first headliner of this summer's 02 Wireless Festival in July.

He said: "The album will hopefully be out around July, it's nearly finished."

However, Fatboy said sadly, there wasn't any chance of Iggy joining him onstage on 5 July.

Stars who've previously worked with Cook include Macy Gray, Damon Albarn and funk legend Bootsy Collins.

Tickets for Wireless go on sale from 18 February.
