French artist Alice Daquet took time out before performing inside a huge balloon at a festival in Tokyo. The event, called No Man's Land, will see around 70 artists perform between now and the end of January 2010.

A couple of hamsters appeared to get into the groove for a new TV advert which will air in December. People were invited to send in pictures of their pets to appear in the starring role.

Students got themselves all lathered up with shaving foam as part of celebrations for the traditional Raisin Week at St Andrews University. Freshers are adopted by senior students and so used to present them with a pound of raisins - now it's wine.

Comedy magician Carl-Einer Hackner from La Clique Cabaret manages to shove what looks like a harmonica in his mouth during a performance. Other performers include Marawa the Hula Hoop artist, Mario the juggler and the Wau Wau Sisters.

Tourists take a dip in some Beaujolais Nouveau at a wine spa in Japan. The event takes place every year at a hot mountain spring. The French wine is traditionally released to the public every year at midnight on the third Thursday in November.

"Ironman" Manjit Singh, who runs a security firm in Leicester, has broken a world record for pulling a double-decker bus the furthest distance with his hair. The 59-year-old managed to drag an 8.5 ton (8,500kg) bus 21.2 metres at Battersea Park in London.

However, 235 Australians in Sydney's financial district weren't enough to set a new world record for the largest ever bikini parade. They were 47 people short of setting a new world record, held by a group of women and men from South Africa.

A model showcases a new bra that also doubles up as a putting matt for golfing fans in Tokyo. It has slots to store tees and the cups turn into holes which electronically announce:"Nice in!" when you make a putt. The "Quiet Please" skirt is also a flag.

Russian boxer Nikolai Valuev poses next to his challenger, British boxer David Haye, before their WBA world heavyweight championship in Germany on Saturday night (7 November). Valuev is 7ft 2in tall (2.18m) and weighs 23 stone (147kg).

Sofus the harbour seal from the Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth, Devon, has his teeth cleaned in preparation for an operation by the vet/dentist. The five-year-old animal's having one of his front teeth removed after it was broken.
