Alexandra can't believe X Factor win

This year's X Factor winner stopped by on Sunday to chat to Fearne and Reggie on the Radio 1 Chart Show about her shock at winning, singing with Beyonce and what she wants her debut album to sound like.

Has it soaked in at all yet?

No, I actually can't believe what's happening in my life right now. I am over the moon, but I keep literally going to myself, 'Oh my god, I won, oh my god, I actually won!'. But it won't sink in.

Did you think you were going to win on Saturday?

I'm an emotional wreck as it stands but I went in thinking JLS were going to win. I went around the whole week saying 'JLS, Eoghan, it's between you two - I'm getting knocked out first'. When Eoghan got knocked out first I was in shock, and I still thought JLS were going to win!

You performed with Beyonce!

Woh. The best moment of my life! I absolutely adore that woman, absolutely adore her. So thankful that she wanted to do that with me.

Who did you want to impress most when you were performing - your mentor Cheryl or Simon Cowell?

To be completely honest, I always wanted to impress Simon, always, always, and she [Cheryl] knew this as well. Every week I'd go 'Ok, Simon needs to love me, Simon needs to love me, so he can sign me 'cause I know I'm not gonna win'.

What about Louis? He turned you down a few years ago.

Well, I have to thank him too. At 16, who would have been able to handle what people handle now [at 20]? I'm really glad it happened now, definitely.

If you do make Christmas number one with Hallelujah you'll be knocking off Leona, who's number one now - what's been said about that in X Factor Towers?

Alexandra's single Hallelujah was originally by Leonard Cohen

Um, I don't know… I mean, I was told today that, like, since 2004 anyone that's won The X Factor has always been number one, so there is big pressure. When that person told me that today I was like 'I actually feel sick'. But I'm just hoping for the best, I want this to get to number one so badly, I would love a Christmas number one - and I'm sure Leona won't mind either. We're friends, she knew my name!

We want some gossip now - When Diana left, Eoghan cried like a lost boy - what was that all about?

You know what it is, right - you see when Ruth left, did you see how I cried? It's best friends. Me and Ruth were best friends, Diana and Eoghan are best friends. And that's how it is, when you lose your best friends.

Are you going to stay in contact with any of the other finalists? Obviously, you and Ruth are friends.

All of them, all of them. Final 12, man.

Are any of them signed?

Not that I know of - and no one can actually be signed at the moment. We have to wait and see what happens.

Obviously this first single is a cover, but what sort of music is Alexandra going to put out?

Okay, this is a discussion that needs to be discussed next week. I have my ideas, I always have my ideas. I want to bring back old school music, it's gonna be something like old school meets new school, when it was real music, you know, where it was Aretha, Gladys Knight, Al Green, with a pop twist, you know - if I can do that, then hallelujah!
