Kaiser Chiefs will embark on a UK arena tour in February 2009
Kaiser Chiefs have labelled Blur's decision to reunite as "brilliant".
The Leeds group have long singled out the band as a huge influence.
Earlier this week Blur announced the original line up will play for the first time in eight years next year at London's Hyde Park.
Speaking to Newsbeat Kaiser Chiefs' Nick Hodgson said: "It's brilliant - I'm very pleased - normally I hate reunions - this doesn't feel like a reunion."
'Unfinished business'
He added: "I like this because it actually feels like unfinished business and they've actually got something to do it for.
"They've actually reunited as opposed to got back together for a load of cash.
"I think the Stone Roses could do the same thing.
"This doesn't feel like a reunion like the sort of cash-in one's which I think that have been happening."

However, the fivesome have mixed feelings about a potential invite to join their heroes at the event taking place on 3 July.
"This is my first thought I was in me car and heard it. And thought 'We're going to get asked to play that gig - will we do it?'" said bassist Simon Rix.
"I don't know if I want to do it really it's too much doing what people think you'd be doing and we hate doing that."
But Nick Hodgson disagreed saying: "I'd like to do it though - it might just be bass-less.
