nominations at the awards but ended up with just a pair of statuettes. She was favourite for artist of the year, but was beaten to the honour by Kiss Kiss singer Chris Brown.

Chris Brown received his artist of the year award from Aerosmith members Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. The 19-year-old said he was shocked: "I'm so thankful. I thought Coldplay should have won."
