The Atlantis Hotel

The opening of the 750m Atlantis Hotel in Dubai was celebrated by what's said to have been the world's biggest firework display. There was also a massive star-studded party.

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue reportedly got 2m for performing at the event and was one of around 2,000 guests. Rooms at the hotel aren't cheap though - they go from 550 to 23,000 per night.

Lily Allen

The UK celebrity set was well represented at the bash, with Lily Allen putting on a suitably posh frock. Guests at the party also enjoyed lobster and champagne and were looked after by 1,000 waiters.

Albert Hammond Jr and Agyness Deyn

Model of the moment Agyness Deyn turned up with boyfriend Albert Hammond Jr. Now based in New York, the Manchester-born star recently announced her engagement to The Strokes guitarist.

Will Cameron and Daisy Lowe

Fellow model Daisy Lowe and her boyfriend Will Cameron also made the trip to Dubai. Lowe recently got back back with Cameron after a six-month relationship with producer Mark Ronson.

Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan, arguably the most talented man to ever pick up a basketball, looked dapper in a grey pinstripe suit. However, not everyone went for the low-key option.

Wesley Snipes

Hollywood actor Wesley Snipes chose to make a bit of a statement in this distinctive yellow number. Snipes is currently appealing a three-year jail term for tax offences.

Lindsay Lohan

Actress and tabloid it-girl Lindsay Lohan went for the black dress option. The 22-year-old also joined girlfriend Sam Ronson in London last week to DJ at some of the capital's top clubs.

Natalie Imbruglia

Singer Natalie Imbruglia turned heads with her blonde bob and green dress. The former Neighbours actress is just finishing off her fourth studio album. It's lined up to be released in March.

Charlize Theron

Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron wore a long, flowing, white dress with sandals. Most of the stars were staying at the Atlantis Hotel, which has 1,539 rooms to choose from.
