Alicia Keyes

A host of stars, including singer Alicia Keys, turn out for the Black Ball in New York. Keys is one of the forces behind the charity event, raising money for children affected by HIV/Aids in Africa.

Adele admitted to being a tad overwhelmed by the experience. She said: "I'm doing a duet with Alicia Keys. I knocked the back of her head with my guitar I was so nervous. I always get star struck."

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake was all smiles. Maybe he heard what Alicia Keys said about him when she was asked who she thought was fun. She said: "Justin's hilarious, he's a prankster, a joker, he's great."

Elijah Wood and Pamela Racine

Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood was there with girlfriend Pamela Racine. When Newsbeat asked about whether he might appear in a Hobbit movie he said that it was "conceivably possible".

Jessica Alba

Sin City star Jessica Alba wore a brown floor-skimmer for the event, with a Sex And The City-style corsage. Other guests on the night included rock legend David Bowie and singer Queen Latifah.
