Keifer Sutherland returns as CTU agent Jack Bauer in a special two-hour film called 24: Redemption, being screened on Sky1 next month. It sees Bauer tackling the issue of child soldiers in Africa.
In the movie prequel, Jack Bauer sees himself caught up in a military coup in the fictional country of Sangala. All that is happening at the same time as the first woman president being sworn in to office.
24: Redemption was due to be mainly filmed in California but ended up being shot in South Africa. Actor Robert Carlyle joins the cast as Carl Benton, an old friend who looks after former child soldiers.
While Jack Bauer is trying to save children involved in the military coup, the US government is trying to force him back home to appear before the Senate to answer questions about torturing a suspect.
24: Redemption is due to air on Sky1 in November. An extended DVD version will then be released before season seven starts in 2009. Look out for a surprise return of one of the main characters.
