Tropic Thunder premiere

Jack Black

Never one to avoid the limelight, Jack Black strikes a pose for photographers at the UK premiere of new comedy Tropic Thunder - the film opens across the country on 19 September.

The movie is about a group of actors making a war film who get caught up in a jungle battle with a drugs gang. Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr play the other two main characters.

Stiller also directed and co-wrote the movie. Despite attracting controversy, the film was a hit in the US and topped the box office for its first three weeks of release.

Robert Downey Jr

Robert Downey Jr's character pokes fun at the lengths some method-actors go to when they take on a role. He plays an Australian actor who puts on make-up to portray an African-American.

Gemma Atkinson

Former Hollyoaks actress and model Gemma Atkinson was one of the many TV and music personalities at the famous Odeon cinema in London's Leicester Square.

Brendan Cole and Zoe Hobbs

Brendan Cole from Strictly Come Dancing turned up with his girlfriend, British model Zoe Hobbs. Cole will be teaming up with Lisa Snowdon in the upcoming series of the BBC dancing show.

Ben Ainslie and guest

Fresh from his Olympic success, gold medallist Ben Ainslie was one of several sport stars on the red carpet. Ainslie won his third consecutive gold in the Finn-class sailing in Beijing.

Monty Panesar

England cricketer Monty Panesar also put in an appearance at the premiere. The spin-bowler has just signed a new two-year deal with his county side Northamptonshire.

Dizzee Rascal

Dizzee Rascal gives the thumbs up as he makes his way into the screening. The British hip hop artist has good reason to smile after the success of his recent number one single Dance Wiv Me.
