Alison Carroll is the new face of Lara Croft. She is a 23-year-old elite gymnast who has previously represented Great Britain. The former receptionist follows in the footsteps of Lara Crofts like Angelina Jolie.
Alison Carroll has 12 years experience as a professional display gymnast. She will be the face of the character for the launch of the new game Tomb Raider: Underworld, out on 21 November.
Alison Carroll will now start a series of courses including SAS survival, combat and semi-automatic weapon firing in Eastern Europe and a crash course in world archaeology to transform her into Lara Croft.
The high-kicking 23-year-old from Croydon, south London, already follows a rigorous training regime, working out in
the gym six times a week. She also coaches younger gymnasts.
Alison Carroll says she can't believe she's Lara Croft: "This is my dream job. I have always wanted to be an action hero and hope to be able to use my gymnastic ability to perform all of Lara's stunts."
