Kylie gets an OBE at the Palace

Kylie Minogue says she is "totally blown away" to get an OBE. The 40-year-old was wearing a cream dress by Yves Saint Laurent decorated with stars for her date at Buckingham Palace.

Kylie's being honoured for her services to the music industry. After the ceremony Kylie revealed that Prince Charles had talked about her recovery from breast cancer while giving her the OBE.

The star was joined by parents, Carol and Ron, and sister Dannii: "I'm imagining our family when we were kids saying to me, 'one day you're going to go to the Palace'. That would not have been believable."

Before leaving the Palace, Kylie said she would celebrate with a few cocktails but not too many because she's "still touring". On the future she said: "I just long for more experiences - it's what drives me."

Kylie found fame playing tomboy car mechanic Charlene in Neighbours. She began her music career with number one hit I Should Be So Lucky, written by Stock, Aitken & Waterman.
