Theron thought our pop quiz was much more fun than a premiere
|
Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron has told Newsbeat she doesn't have the energy to be a diva.
She said: "You know what, I'm lazy and to be a diva takes a lot of energy and so that's why I don't do it because I just don't have the energy.
"It's a lot of work to be a diva. People forget. It's hard to yell at people and it's really hard to hit them. If I had more energy I would do it."
"I hit my publicist this morning. Apparently that doesn't go over too well."
She also admitted to being a massive fan of 80s power pop: "I do like naff 80s and I'm not ashamed to say that."
Waxing lyrical
So we decided to put her lyrical knowledge to the test with a mini quiz.
However, she did admit to finding the words a bit tricky to remember.
She said: "This is the problem - I never know what they're singing. When I'm singing the song, I'm singing about like a clown and they're like 'No, no, no, he's actually singing about god'."
Messing about on the red carpet with Will Smith in London

She was very quick to recognise Bonnie Tyler's lyrics though, and after a short musical rendition from our entertainment reporter, managed to correctly guess Duran Duran.
It certainly made a change from the usual style of press interviews.
She said: "This is so much fun. Let's do this all day - who wants to go to a premiere!
Plot twist
Theron is currently promoting her new film Hancock, co-starring Will Smith.
For once, few details of the plot have emerged, as the trailer only focuses on the very first section of the movie.
This was a deliberate ploy, as the plot contains a certain twist which they wanted kept a secret.
She said: "I think it's unusual in this day and age with technology and access on the internet and blogs. Very little remains a mystery in film-making."
Hancock is in cinemas from 2 July.
Charlize Theron was talking to entertainment reporter Natalie Jamieson.
