Peter Andre on 'mad' life with Katie

Peter and wife Katie are never far from the limelight or the cameras

Peter Andre has admitted that living with Katie Price and their three children is "mad".

The couple met on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and their life has remained very public as cameras continue to follow them for a series of ITV reality shows.

Speaking as he was named dad of the year Andre shed more light on the life he shares with the former glamour model.

He said: "I don't know what it is about the TV show that they like but they seem to love this madness that our family is, because it is a mad family.

"Maybe I am representing the modern day dad, maybe that's what it is. There's a lot of henpecked men out there, we kind of get bullied a bit."

Katie Price won mum of the year herself in 2007 and also released children's book Perfect Ponies last year.

'Untouchable'

Andre said: "There's no way I could go and take myself seriously now.

"We're already as over-exposed on the personal side as we can be. Now I could never become untouchable. I could never think I'm that good.

"You've opened yourself so much to the public, everyone knows the kind of person you are and everyone knows you, so you've got to stay that person."

The 35-year-old will soon be working on a second album of duets with Katie and doesn't seem to mind some of the ribbing they've had in the past about their music.

He said: "I don't mind them taking the mickey out of us because I believe we are so happy to take the mickey out of ourselves.

"The only things that have ever hurt me is if anyone would criticise you as a parent.

"As an individual that's part of what the industry is. You can't take it too seriously, people don't like that. The minute you take it seriously it's all over."

Pop past

Andre is working on a new solo album and is determined to take a new direction from his pop past.

He said: "I want to do a good credible soul album.

"I know when people think of me, it's Mysterious Girl, it's Insania, but that kind of chapter's closed for me and I don't really want to go down that poppy road any more."

That's if he can fit it in around his baby plans.

The couple already have three children, Princess, Junior and Harvey - from Katie's previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.

But Andre said he's "not half-way there yet" and would probably like around seven children.
