Heroes star drops second series hints

Leonard Roberts, who plays DL Hawkins in Heroes, says the US writer's strike means even the cast of the hit show haven't got a clue what will happen in the second series.

Production stopped part way through, leaving the stars playing a waiting game.

And Roberts, whose character was shot at the end of the first series, told Newsbeat the producers don't give much away at the best of times.

"It's like the government, it's on a need-to-know basis", he said.

DL Hawkins has the power to walk through walls, and Roberts says that's something that keeps his character alive in the second series.

He said: "How many times did you guys see me get shot? It's your man, you know I'm going to be alright."

But the actor would prefer to have the regenerative powers of Claire (the Cheerleader) when he broke his elbow just before the start of the first series.

He said: "It would have been nice to have some invincible cheerleader blood in me right about then."

Series two starts on BBC2 in April, and it's hoped that filming in the US will resume later this year.
