Devolution
The NI Executive has had a faltering start but remains in place. Following one suspension the executive is now functioning effectively and taking its own decisions on a wide range of issues. But how will devolution influence the general election? Voters are still likely to vote along traditional lines despite the fact that all parties are working together locally.
Issues
There are three main issues which continue to dominate the political debate in NI following the Good Friday Agreement. Policing, decommissioning of paramilitary weapons and demilitarisation will all be to the forefront of the general election debate.
