Raga Festival 2007

Surdhwani is a voluntary arts organisation that promotes Indian classical music and dance and is celebrating throughout the year with the Raga Festival 2007.

The first two events take place this spring and focus on youth music and dance.

Saturday 24th March will see a dance extravaganza featuring Bharatanatyam and Odissi dance recitals with Mitali Dev and Deepa Ganesh, who'll be accompanied by her two daughters.

Saturday 21st April will see A Celebration of Music with SAMYO (South Asian Youth Music Festival), the first orchestra of its kind in this country.

SAMYO is a celebration of youth music consisting of young talents aged between eight and 18 and its orchestra uses both Karnatic and Hindustani instruments.
