Presenter profile: Adam Tomlinson

Adam Tomlinson
Adam is in charge of helping North Yorkshire out of bed each morning

Adam presents the Breakfast Show each weekday morning between 6.30am and 9.00am, so it's an early start for the man who doesn't do early mornings.

Leeds-born Adam studied music at Leeds College of Music, then did his degree (music and drama), at the then College of Ripon and York St John.

After a stint as a Butlins redcoat at the Grand Hotel in Llandudno, and later at the Grand Hotel in Scarborough, Adam started his musical theatre career as a Musical Director at the Library Theatre in Manchester.

There then followed national tours of Little Shop of Horrors, pantomimes all over the place, starring Danny La Rue, Lorraine Chase, Fern Britton amongst others. Two national tours with Russ Abbot, including a season at the London Palladium, and tours in Europe of Little Shop of Horrors, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Rocky Horror Show.

Adam began his association with BBC Radio York in June of 1992, knowing nothing about radio at all, some would say nothing's changed!

In the time Adam's been here, there isn't a show he hasn't presented, and he's delighted now to be presenting the Breakfast Show.

Adam enjoys compering events for the station, particularly the Comic Relief "Stars In Our Eyes" event in March 2009.

He is married to Helen, and is currently playing cricket (lots of it) with his two sons.
