2009 marks the 1300th anniversary of the death of Saint Wilfrid, one of the most important figures in the early Anglo-Saxon church.

Eva Schloss survived Auschwitz, unlike her step-sister Anne Frank. Read her story as she receives an honorary degree.

Conscientious objectors were held in Richmond Castle during the Great War.
