Pull on a Santa suit and get dashing for charity
BBC Radio York has once again teamed up with the British Heart Foundation for the York Santa Dash which raises money for the charity's vital work. This year's dash takes place on Sunday 13 December. BBC Radio York will be live on air covering the event. This year's special guest is Trojan from the TV show Gladiators who is performing in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Grand Opera House in York.

Anyone, from toddlers to older people, can take part, dress up and have fun regardless of age and ability. The Santa Dash starts at 10.30am in the Tower Gardens and covers a distance of just one mile. You can complete the course in your own time and at a comfortable pace. The entry fee is a minimum donation of £5 for adults, which includes a free adult size Santa suit. Children are being encouraged to come in fancy dress and can enter the Dash free, although under 16 year olds need to be accompanied by an adult. There will be a fan

website. St Catherine's Hospice Santa Dash St Catherine's Hospice in Scarborough is holding a one-and-a-half mile Santa Dash on Sunday 13 December. Last year more than £3,000 was raised for hospice funds and the organisers are hoping to top that this year. The run sets off at 11am from the Sands Development and ends at Luna Park.
