For the first time in many decades the River Ouse in York has frozen over.
Freezing conditions in late November and early December have seen many weather records broken.
Temperatures have rarely reached 0C in recent weeks and overnight temperatures have plummeted. Topcliffe near Thirsk has recorded record lows of -19C and -18C.
Callers to BBC Radio York suggested that the last time the Ouse froze was back in the 1960s.
Many other waterways were also frozen over across North Yorkshire. This was the River Swale at Skipton on Swale.
This was the canal at Skipton. Send your pictures of frozen waterways to northyorkshire@bbc.co.uk.
