The Great Yorkshire Show 2009 began on Tuesday 14 July. Attracting crowds of around 120,000 over the three days each year, the show still remains focused on farming and livestock.
It's thought that 2009 will be a record breaking year for the 12,189 entries in the various livestock sections.

There are classes across 24 different sections from driving four in hand coaches, to classes for honey, poultry and show jumping.
The backbone of the animal sections are the cattle, sheep and pigs. Even a prize-winning pig needs its beauty sleep though.
The showground has to provide enough stabling for the many horses that arrive at the show each year.
Owners take great pride in their livestock and spend a great deal of time ensuring their animals look their best.
The cattle might just get a wash and brush up but for the horses it's the full make-over.
Competition is always fierce and the judging is taken very seriously indeed.
It may be the most traditional of shows but there's always room for a bit of innovation. Like these North Yorkshire bred Alpacas, a big hit with younger visitors to the show.
