For a number of years now the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon has been the place for the town's music fans to see their favourite bands and recording artists up close and personal. Just some of the national and international acts to have appeared at the 3000 capacity venue over the last few years have included McFly, Kings of Leon, Pet Shop Boys and Scissor Sisters. And before this year is out, at least ten more top-selling bands are due to play gigs at the venue. Forthcoming shows by top acts such as Morrissey, Dizzee Rascal, Alice Cooper, Lily Allen and Will Young have already sold out, but you can still obtain tickets for the remainder of The Oasis's 2009 gigs. First up on Saturday 14 November, 1980s soul star Alexander O'Neal famous for hits such as 'Criticise' and 'Fake' is joined by huge-in-the-early-1990s singer Kenny Thomas, and 2005 X-Factor runner-up Andy Abraham. For any fan of soul and R'n'B, this is a show not to be missed.

Lulu says of the show: "I am so proud of our Here Come the Girls Tour. "Putting it together has been exciting and I am thrilled that these great voices, and now my great friends, Chaka Khan and Anastacia, are sharing the experience with me. "The show is a celebration of us women - a little mischief and a lot of fun, set to real get-up-and-dance music. "Talk about woman power!" Basement Jaxx And rounding out 2009, just over a fortnight later on Sunday 6 December, pioneering London-based dance duo Basement Jaxx perform at The Oasis.
