'From Earth To The Universe' is a stunning collection of photographs being displayed this month at Avebury's Study Centre.

The exhibition sees over a dozen images captured by some of man's most powerful telescopes go on display in Avebury.

Was Avebury's stone circle originally arranged to align with the cosmos?

Uncovering the mysteries has been the subject of intense investigation, and it's a fitting site for this spectacular travelling exhibition.

"The image of Saturn looks so perfect you can't believe it's real, but it really is a photograph. It's mind blowing," said Yasmin Sheikh, Visitor Services Manager for Avebury.

As well as 15 large scale images of Saturn, the Crab Nebula, Eagle Nebula among others, there will be astronomy based trails for all ages and levels of expertise, and a video presentation playing in Avebury's Dovecote exploring the link the stone circles of the world have with astronomy through the ages.

Yasmin said: "Avebury is a favourite spot for local astronomers as it's such an atmospheric place and away from street lights, so it's great to be able to bring visitors even closer to the stars above us with this exhibition."

The FETTU exhibition is being hosted at Avebury with support from the Blackett Observatory at Marlborough College, which will host the collection once it moves on from Avebury.

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge. It's accessible every day between 10.00am - 5.00pm in Avebury's Study Centre and runs until the end of September.
