Soul and Inspiration with Mark Jones - music to ease you into Sunday

In a world which is 24/7, where we are busier than ever before there's a time which lends itself for pause and reflection.

Sunday's the day, and you can join me on BBC Wiltshire for an hour of reflective music and inspiring words.

Soul and Inspiration - a one hour programme on Sunday morning which helps you prepare for a busy day or week.

You can also request a traditional hymn if you fancy a sing-a-long to get your day off to a good start.

I have been presenting Soul and Inspiration for 18 months, and have tried to make it accessible for all; whether you have a faith or not.

Good Sunday morning music

The show features worship songs, traditional hymns and secular tunes and artists with a spiritual message or feel.

For example in the past I have played chart hits by Van Morrison, Dolly Parton, Neil Diamond, Elton John, and Cliff Richard.

Admittedly, some of those wear their Christianity on their sleeve, but others are very spiritual and you wouldn't know it until you hear some of their songs.

And that's what I mean by accessibility for all - whatever you believe I hope there is something special you will like in Soul and Inspiration.

We also have a Thought for the Week - words to help you through the day and the week ahead, brought to you by a member of the local community.

Also we delve into the work of different religions, churches and Christian denominations like; finding places of spiritual peace and discovering more about Chaplains and not just those who work in hospital.

It's a show with a bit of everything for a Sunday Presenter, Mark Jones

I love presenting Soul and Inspiration because I love music but I also have a faith, so I feel the two go hand in hand.

But as I say this show is for anyone who's looking for some inspiration and likes good music.

The programme also showcases local music talent, so if you are an artist or band of Christian or of any other religious persuasion and you'd like me to play some of your music then drop me a line.

I would like to think my faith helps the show.

I hope it gives me an insight and some understanding of those who have a faith or like me struggle with it, and in return I can give you a show which helps anyone in that situation.
