Through to March 2010, the BBC in the North East and Cumbria will be asking some of the Big Questions on issues that affect your life in our region. We will closely examine them, with the view to provide answers to the questions raised. First, we address the thorny issue of employment. With 124,000 people out of work in the region, what hope is there for real jobs? People from all walks of life are now asking: "Why can't I get a job?" We'll be trying to answer that question from Monday 19 October. We've a whole week of coverage on BBC One's Look North programme, your local radio station and, of course, on-line with the BBC Local websites.
